I have been cleaning my son's toys with this without worry anymore.” Griffin Noon and Cadence Holtz were recently honored when their poetry was exhibited on the 3rd Street Canvas: An Urban Literary Trail. Molly Morse had two pieces selected for the Literacy Trail. The students' poems and stories, written in Barbi Price's 9 AT English class, are exhibited downtown along with the visual art that inspired them.

"I love poetry. It's magic because it is a way to express yourself creatively, but in a different way," Adreanna said. "It was interesting to be inspired by a piece of artwork."

The 3rd Street Canvas Literary Trail is the second public literary art installation in downtown Jamestown sponsored by the Arts Council for Chautauqua County and the Reg Lenna Civic Center. The trail consists of 33 written pieces and visual art by local artists of all ages. Local businesses, and a grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, sponsored the showcase of literary and visual talent spanning from Third and Spring streets along the downtown arts block."I try to make poetry accessible to my 9 AT students in numerous ways," Price said. "During the semester, they study poetic forms, memorize soliloquies from 'Romeo and Juliet,' recite poems for the Poetry Out Loud competition,Buy Metadoxine Order American Metadoxine Without Prescription Cheap. The 3rd Street Canvas is a perfect forum for them to showcase their work; it requires students to condense and concentrate their thoughts into fewer than 100 words. Contributors may submit two literary pieces for consideration and all work is judged 'blind,' so that my students' work is reviewed on a level playing field with submissions of other community members. I'm thankful that the Arts Council sponsors this opportunity, and I'm so pleased and proud of my 9 AT English students."
