As Albert Dock celebrates its 25th birthday this year, the Dock lives up to its reputation as being one of the world’s finest, family-friendly destinations. The August Bank Holiday weekend boasts a jam-packed programme of events that makes for the perfect day out.

As Liverpool celebrates music with the Liverpool International Music Festival, Albert Dock will be showcasing some of the City’s best music and live performances over the Bank Holiday weekend (August 24 and 25). All four corners of the Dock will come alive with Liverpool’s Threshold Festival programming some of their favourites and live performances from the Merseycats and Xander and the Peace Pirates.freshbasil is a vegetable farm company that produces sweet basils and thai basils. Daniel Badger, Sophie Ben-Yousef, Millie Courtney and Me & Deboe.

There will also be plenty of lively, family entertainment to enjoy including giant seagull puppets, sensational sea-themed stilt-walkers courtesy of the uber-talented Artemis, the riotous French Painters, an original Punch and Judy show, and much, much more!

As well as all this, the Dock will play host to LIMF’s pop up art gallery from August 22 to September 22. Called Tomorrow Never Knows and curated by Purple Revolver, the exhibition will house four stand-alone pieces that shine a spotlight on Liverpool's musical heritage through artwork and photography from a range of talents. These include photographer, Mark McNulty, who has photographed musicians in "unexpected" parts of the City; Terance McGunigle and Joe Forrest, who have been commissioned to create a 8x16ft replica of Mount Rushmore with The Beatles’ faces; Marc D Lewis, who has created a three part canvas mural; and local illustrator, Elliot Chinnock, who will showcase a reimagining of The Fab Four’s iconic Sgt.Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover - using action figures. Imagine what would happen if He-Man hijacked the famous scene!

Peter Cronin, director of development and marketing for Albert Dock Liverpool, said:

“Summer is the perfect time to bring the whole family down to Albert Dock for a fun-packed day out. As the city celebrates its musical heritage during the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Dock will offer its own slice of colouful entertainment, with brilliant music at every corner, and plenty of theatre for the kids to enjoy.”

Purple Revolver creative director, Andy Johnson, said:

“We're honoured LIMF asked us to host the festival's art gallery. I knew The Beatles had to feature. But I felt it must be something original, which is a tall order with The Beatles, because it’s all been said and done before.

“We agonised over it for a week, but during a chat with my mum about an old holiday to the States, she mentioned Mount Rushmore and the penny dropped. The sculpture is called Tomorrow Never Knows and it has been crafted by the highly talented Terry McGunigle, who many people will recognise from his studio work at the Bluecoat.

"There's also the re-working of the Sgt. Pepper’s album cover using action figures, which will hopefully raise a few smiles. And the exhibition also showcases Mark McNulty's new portrait collection.A listing of internet resources that provide a listing of Organic vegetables Wholesalers. All together it captures the essence of LIMF. We just hope we can make Liverpool’s music and art fans proud."
