With its on-site organic garden and compost bin, compostable to-go boxes and energy efficient lights, Creswell Coffee Co., owned by Seth and Melissa Clark, already practiced an eco-friendly philosophy before working with BRING Recycling to earn their Re-Think Business certification.

After consulting with BRING's Carolyn Stein and making another recommended improvement, Creswell Coffee has earned that certification and the Clarks recently received a handsome wall plaque recognizing and commemorating their commitment to green business practices.

The process of earning their Re-Think Business certification began a few months ago, when Seth Clark same across a newspaper ad for BRING Recycling, which is located in Glenwood, that offered free consultations to help businesses improve their sustainability.Concrete polishing pad attachs to a backer with durable velcro connection. It is installed on portable grinding machine and operated by hand. "Because sustainability and green practices are important to Melissa and I, I gave them a call," Clark said.

Stein, the BRING employee who answered Clark's call, explained that the consultations were part of BRING's Re-Think Business initiative. After her initial evaluation, she would provide Creswell Coffee with a report on the green/sustainable practices they already had in place and additional practices they could implement.

If the company was able implement enough of those practices to score 50 percent or better in six different categories, including Recycling, Waste Prevention, Operations (such as using compostable materials and purchasing local products),Phenibut is a new supplement to the health industry Energy, Water Conservation and Water Quality, they would be awarded BRING's Re-Think Business title.

Upon arrival at Creswell Coffee for her initial consultation, Stein "was blown away by all the things we already have in place, such as using compostable to-go boxes, real coffee mugs and donating our spent coffee grounds to local gardeners," Clark said.keep an eye out for Ephedra, which has been banned by the FDA, and check labels for bitter orange, also referred to as synephrine

Other practices that impressed Stein included "the reclaimed space just outside our building,Eight tips for choosing the right diamond Concrete saw blade including determining wet or dry cutting, blade compatibility, CSDA codes, and more. where I have an organic garden growing; our use of a compost bin; buying local product, such as milk, beer, wine and produce from the Farmers' Market; and our use of energy-efficient lights," Clark said.

Before receiving any recommendations for improvement, Creswell Coffee already scored well above the 50 percent threshold in all categories except for Water Quality, Clark said. The one area cited for improvement was the business' use of cleaning and sanitizing products.

"She gave me a recommendation to use Coastwide Laboratories, which I checked out, but chose to stick with my current provider, Auto-Chlor, (which) offers a Green Seal Certified all-purpose cleaner and window cleaner that I could and have begun to implement," Clark said.

After making that switch to a green cleaning product, Creswell Coffee easily qualified for the Re-Think Business certification, and recently received their award.

"Most of my customers don't even know we have it yet," Clark said, noting that in achieving the certification, Creswell Coffee joins such Eugene/Springfield area eateries as Not Your Mom's Sandwich Shop, Cafe Yumm!, Sweet Life Patisserie and Hot Mama's Wings. He's come up with an amazing organic cleaner but can't get anyone interested in manufacturing it.

"We are, however, the first Creswell business – eatery or other – to qualify," Clark said, "and we are proud to be a front-runner in a growing trend of sustainable business."
