Enough businesses have indicated they would participate in a Shop Hillsborough program that could lower property tax bills for participating shoppers.

Mr. Burchette said the next steps would include a resolution of support by the Township Committee, which would pledge to publicize the card via e-mails, mailings to the township’s 42,000 residents, signs, on social media and its own website and in purchased advertising.

Merchants attending Monday evening program were told that Shop Hillsborough could bring them more business, a higher rate of customer retention and a more loyal audience. Businesses would get email addresses of cardholding shoppers, ads on the Shop Hillsborough web site and the resident’s account pages —all for $10 per month, plus whatever promotion they offer on the card.
For residents, the lure would be a reduced property tax bill, or rebate check, that would grow bigger the more they take advantage of the card. A representative of the company sponsoring the program, who said she lived in Marlboro, said she changed her salon, dry cleaner and other shopping outlets and was on target to save $500 in a year.
Jeri Sacewicz of the Memory Lane store in the Nelson’s Corner Shopping Center said, “I think it’s a good program but I’d like to make sure there are enough (stores) on board to make it work.” She said her store participates in “loyalty programs” with Hallmark,Different pen shape usb sticks give you different feeling,I believe you will like it. the Jr. Raiders sports organization and the local fire company, plus a lot of coupons.USB Flash Drive Savory Food.
