In May, the always-popular Mad Science will return to the library with three special programs for preschool and elementary school students. From 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 6, preschoolers ages 3-5 are invited to blast off with a “Stellar Space” event, where little astronauts-in-training will take a pretend trip to the moon to take a moon walk and collect moon rocks.

On Tuesday, May 7, at 4:15 p.m.,Phenibut is a new supplement to the health industry. kindergarteners and first-graders can learn the fundamentals of chemistry with Mad Science’s “Matter of Fact” program. We’ll construct marshmallow molecules, learn the difference between physical and chemical changes, and make polymer putty to take home.

We’ll attach all the features with magnets so they are interchangeable, a la Mr. Potato Head. It’s a fun, unique gift for Father’s Day, and kids can make one for themselves too. If you have teenagers, you’re probably starting to think about how you’ll keep them occupied this summer. The library needs lots of volunteers to help out as listeners in our Summer Reading Club. Volunteer listeners must be entering grade eight or higher, be reliable, responsible and enthusiastic, and like children. The library will hold two training sessions for anyone interested in volunteering, and students who attend the training will have the first opportunity to sign up to volunteer. Training sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, and 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6. Registration is required.
